A practical workflow

Start tracking time by selecting a project and clicking the play button or using the menu bar icon or keyboard shortcut ⌘T.
Create a project by navigating to the Projects section, clicking the "+" button, naming the project, choosing a color, and optionally setting hourly rate or budget.
Add manual time entries by clicking the "+" button in Timer or Times view or by filling gaps in the day view.
