Trade-offs

Host setup only works on Linux because macOS and Windows do not expose a Unix socket for Tailscale and Docker Desktop runs containers in a VM that cannot mount host Unix sockets.; Rootless Docker requires additional configuration because the DockTail container runs as a non-root user and needs operator permissions to manage Tailscale serve-config writes.
